Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, designed so that no commitment is too overwhelming.

Please read through this list and check all the ways you are comfortable helping. We will keep your information on hand.

Social & Emotional support:

Companion visits: Conversing, playing games, reading aloud, etc.

Telephone reassurance: Making regular, brief phone calls to chat and check well-being

Respite sitting: Staying with those who are debilitated to give caregivers a short break

Hospital visits

Sending greeting cards: Wishing recovery or sympathy

Meal preparation

Errands & Mobility Assistance:

Rides to Temple for Shabbat, holiday services and activities

Shopping: Picking up groceries, household essentials, or prescriptions

Medical appointments: Driving to the doctor or physical therapy

Meal delivery: Delivering prepared meals or shiva refreshments

Home Maintenance & Technology:

Light yard work: Raking leaves, mowing lawns, sweeping sidewalks

Basic home repairs: Changing hard-to-reach lightbulbs, fixing minor leaks

Tech tutoring: Using smartphones, facilitating video calls, managing the Internet

Guidance & Advocacy:

Personal Management: Assisting with basic budgeting, organizing mail, identifying potential scams

Researching resources on the Internet

Translation: letters, documents
