Living in Ojai we are enriched by a creative enclave of writers, photographers, artists, musicians, composers, and spiritual seekers.
Join the Red Tent in a studio visit of Sylvia Raz, longtime JCO congregant and multimedia artist whose work includes paintings, sculpture, and assemblage. Enjoy her hillside retreat and view her unique art.
About Sylvia Raz
A native of Uruguay, Sylvia also lived in Jerusalem for 10 years where she was the head nurse of a psychiatric facility and taught psychiatric nursing. She still pursued her art, taking classes at the renowned Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. She continued taking classes and workshops after moving to Los Angeles in 1974. Influenced by the native cultures and Latin-American masters, her European roots also impacted her work, illustrating issues that “touch her soul.”
