Despite difficult childhood experiences and her ultimate escape from Communist Hungary in the late 1950s, Susanne Reyto embraces an unwavering spirit of optimism and perseverance. As a child survivor of the Holocaust, she has dedicated her life to preserving history and educating Jews and non-Jews, young and old, through a variety of programs and projects.  An award-winning author of books, her writings have appeared in major U.S. newspapers and internet magazines and websites. She has appeared on television and radio in the U.S. and Canada.  While she is an active member of several organizations, she currently chairs the L.A. County "Violins of Hope". This organization produces concerts using a private collection of violins, violas, and cellos which were collected since the end of World War II. Many belonged to Jews before and during the war.
