JCO Book Club

This month we're reading Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom, and it starts with a strange request: an aging rabbi asks Albom, who had drifted from religion years before, to give his eulogy when the time comes. So Albom starts visiting him, just to know the man well enough to do it right, and those visits stretch into eight years. Alongside that runs a second story, a Detroit pastor and former convict holding a congregation together in a crumbling church, and somewhere between the two men the book stops being about religion and becomes about something simpler. How do you keep faith with each other. How do you keep showing up. It's a quiet book, and a generous one, and I think it'll give us plenty to talk about.
