K'hilat Ha'Aloneem Board met at K'hilat at 10 a.m. on January 22, 2012. Present were Susan de Cordova, Sandy Grotzky, Harold Shapiro and Margo Haas and guest Bob Birk.
Motion to approve Minutes of K'hilat Board meeting December 5, 2011 made by Susan de Cordova. Sandy Grotzky second. Unanimous approval.
Motion to appoint Alan Greenberg as treasurer made by Margo Haas. Susan de Cordova second. Unanimous approval.
Financial report of Finance Committee and budget dated 1/11/2012 reviewed.
Rabbi search committee discussion. The Board plans on having several rabbis conduct Services and maybe Torah study through June, at which time it will be determined how best to proceed in regard to hiring a permanent rabbi for K'hilat. Anyone interested in suggesting names of rabbis or helping to conduct search should contact Sheila Cohn or Susan de Cordova.
An estimate re new roof will be obtained, and new landscaper hired for
K'hilat. Painting of the Oneg Room/Library area is tentatively scheduled
for Spring.
Sandy Grotzky will take over the position of liaison with Ojai Valley News.
Sunday School deferred until new Board installed.
President John Gottesman will send out letter to members/friends re
Annual Meeting (date to be determined) and the need for new Board members. The present Board members terms expire in June, and all positions are available including President, Vice President, Secretary, Chief Financial Officer.
Sandy Grotzky will be at K'hilat every Saturday to conduct Torah Study.
Programming: Folk dancing on Friday, January 27; Saturday night movie "The Band" on February 4; Tu B'Shvat Seder on Wednesday , February 8 and next Seasons of Joy program on Wednesday, February 15. The Passover/Pesach Seder is scheduled for Saturday, April 7 at Soule Park.
Next Board meeting on Sunday, February 26 at 10 a.m. at K'hilat.
